A similar day to start within Hyderabad as it was in Rajkot. Another aspiring cricketer made his way to the international arena. Shardul Thakur came in replacing Mohammed Shami who rested for this test match. After winning the toss Windies Captain decided that his team will be batting first.
It was not a good start for the Windies team. The team lost the first two wickets when the team score was just 50 runs. Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer played cautiously through a decent partnership. The Captain decided to bring back his prime bowler Umesh Yadav to the attack. Umesh bowled a brilliant delivery to remove Shai Hope who was looking well settled as well as quite dangerous. Kuldeep Yadav made sure to trouble the Windies team by plucking the important wicket of Hetmyer. People started worrying that Windies would not be able to score sufficient runs to give a decent fight. But then entered Roston Chase who made sure that Windies team make a decent total in their first innings. With the help of the captain Jason Holder, Roston Chase made sure that Windies score 311 runs in their first innings. For India, it was Umesh Yadav's epic spell that restricted the Windies team at a score of 311 runs. It was Umesh's first five-wicket haul. He took a total of 6 wickets in his first innings.
India on the other hand rather had a decent start in their first innings in this test match. Lokesh Rahul's form is something that is one of the major problems for the team. Prithvi Shaw continued his form right where he left in the last test. He scored 70 runs off just 53 deliveries. After several innings, we got to see Ajankiya Rahane play one of his classic innings. He scored 80 before getting perished to a beautiful delivery from Jason Holder. Rishabh Pant played brilliantly by scoring 92 of 134 deliveries. It these helped in raising the total of the Indian team to a total of 367 in the first innings.
Windies did not have the start that their team needed at this point in time. The team lost wickets in quick successions and was able to make a mere total of 127 runs. Umesh Yadav took 4 wickets while Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets with Ashwin taking the other 2. Kuldeep took one wicket. Brilliant performance from the bowlers made sure that the Windies team did not score a lot of runs. In the end, the team got out at a score of 127 runs, leaving a target of 75 runs for the Indian Team. Openers KL Rahul and Prithvi Shaw made sure that the Indian Team does not lose any wickets and comes out victorious without any loss of wickets.
Umesh Yadav was adjudged man of the match for his first 10 wicket haul. Prithvi Shaw, on the other hand, got judged to be the player of the series. With so many powerful performances from both the team, the series came to an end on a positive note. India emerged victoriously and found a gem for the team in the form of Prithvi Shaw.
