Saluting Sonu Sood Sir: World Humanitarian Day 2020

Saluting Sonu Sood Sir: World Humanitarian Day 2020

Just as the world stepped out of its teens,

With vigor to the fore of many dreams.

Then stepped a brute into this scene,

Tiny but dire, very very mean.

It invaded and hopped from one person to another,

Becoming a very big bother.

COVID-19 saw no poor or rich,

In routine life, it inclined into a very big glitch.

All were asked to stay safe indoors,

Wear masks and gloves as long as the virus scores.

Many had the option of work from home,

Not a soul could now ride or roam.

Then we realized the migrant's snag,

Far from home, now in rag-tag.

The roads were empty and free of wheels,

The migrants decided to go home on their heels.

Many blamed the government and shared their memes,

Social media blared with angry screams.

Out of all this came forth one soul,

With a steadfast mind and team with a role.

That was Mr. Sonu Sood and his remarkable team,

Who embarked on a saga to make many beams.

They gave the migrants care and food,

With a humble heart and desire to do good.

Understanding the pain of the far-flung workers,

They decided to send them home, no matter what occurs.

Buses and trains soon started for them,

Paid and cared for by the shining gem.

Many reached their estranged locality,

Happy to be back in the warmth of familiarity.

Facing all the challenges that came on the way,

For many did they brighten the trying day.

Even to the students, held up in distant lands,

Did this hero's wonders mark its expanse!

Countless praises to this wonderful team are serenaded,

From all the hearts into which they have cascaded.

The world today admires Sonu Sir and his crew,

For the difficult path, they came forth to pursue.

Wonders like Mr. Sonu Sood are rare to find,

Doubtlessly, he is one of a kind.

He proved the maxim, "Where there is a will there is a way",

Inspiring us all to do what little we can to give Earth a repay.

In this Earth, we tread our transient feet,

Without love and fraternity is it incomplete.

The 19th of August every year is observed as 'World Humanitarian Day' to celebrate and respect all the souls serving mankind in some way or the other without any selfish motive. Amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, many people have done or tried to do something without thinking about cast, creed, or religion, and this day is to truly honor them.

Much discussed today is the great work done by Mr Sonu Sood, an actor, who did something different and remarkable than sitting at home and making videos! He helped, with the help of his team to get thousands of migrant workers to their homes across the country. He also helped many stranded students from different countries to reach the comfort of their homes in these trying times.

This pandemic has taught us the importance of doctors, nurses, cleaners, and the souls that protect us each day. Above all, it has taught us humility and humanity, and to acknowledge the trivial, yet significant things in our life. It has made us realize the importance of life and the vast opportunities it has.

His work has inspired us all to instill in our hearts and minds to be supportive of the beings we share this wonderful Earth with and to leave a wonderful legacy behind not in the form of riches and fame but what matter-goodwill and trust.
