It is a fact that people do not feel comfortable going to the hospital for any illness or disease. It is supposed to be a nightmare for most of the individuals. 1. It is known as a fact that green is the opposite color to that of the red one. In the 19th century, white was meant to be cleaner and initially, doctors wore such kind of scrubs but later started wearing the green/blue scrubs. Seeing the red color for a long time could make one uncomfortable and might even lead to loss of concentration which is why a contrast color to the red color is worn by the doctors during the operation. A doctor needs to concentrate as a small error might even lead to the death of the patient.
2. Green improvises the visibility: When a person sees something that is a contrast to red and pinks his/her mind tends to be steady and can concentrate on the work much better. As a fact it is said that if a person sees the same color for a longer period, he/she might get desensitized and would feel uncomfortable in performing the job.

There is another point that could be specified is that when the surgeon looks at the blood of the patient for a long period and then turns to the other side which might be white or any other light color, he/she might see a blur greenish vision which might lead to errors while operating. This phenomenon occurs as a part of Vibgyor which everyone would have learned and both green and red are a portion of the white light.

So, the main reason for a doctor to wear green or blue scrub is to avoid the nuances that might occur if not worn and there is every chance of an error to occur which might lead to serious implications both the doctor and the patient. The patient’s life is always in the hands of the doctor and it is the responsibility of a doctor to make sure that the patient gets revived and can lead a normal life.
