Ancient Living Root Bridges being preserved by young lads
While writing this one, I do believe that most of you might have read my previous blog on Living Root bridge. As I was going through today's news, I saw that few of the individuals living in Meghalaya are trying their best to preserve the ancient living root bridges. The young lad who started this goes by the name Khongthaw. He is fondly also called as Morning-star in Meghalaya. Khongthaw is just 23 years old and for him visiting Meghalaya is not a mere vacation but a mission to preserve this unique skill of creating the Living Root Bridge.
His primary mission is to preserve the art of building these Living root bridges. The roots of these bridges are created by weaving and manipulating it. over the years, it has represented as a symbol of Meghalaya and most of the tourists across the world visit it to admire its natural aura.

As per Khongthaw, these naturally created bridges were created by his Khasi ancestors many centuries ago. Khongthaw wants it to be preserved diligently and not be considered as a mere tourist place that people across the world consider it to be.
