 As the match unfolded, it was seen that Afgan players had the greatest time in the field and on the other hand sadly, Srilankan players had a rather bad day at the office. The way Afgan players played showed their grit as well as the way they were enjoying their time in the field. It began with a brilliant batting by the opening batsmen who provided the crucial stand of 57 runs for the first wicket. From there it became a bit easier as the ball was coming onto the bat quite conveniently. The pick of the player for Afghanistan was none other than Rahmat Shah. the knock of 72 runs from 90 deliveries made the difference between the two teams. For the Srilankan team, it was Thisara Perera, who took 5 wickets for 55 runs at 6.1 runs per over to restrict the Afghanistan team at a score of 249 runs.

The total of 249 was quite decent and needed few individuals to apply themselves during the second half of the Srilankan innings. As a bowling unit, Afgan team has predominantly a good side that believes in themselves in restricting strong teams at lower totals as well as an ability to defend their scores as well. It was always difficult for Sri Lanka as they had to counter 2 of most famous bowlers "Rashid Khan" and "Mujeeb Ur Rehman" of the Afghan Team in order to secure a win and stay alive in this tournament.

Just like the first innings, Thisara Perera was the last known batsman who was battling alone expecting at least one of their team members to stand in and form a partnership. Well, the batsmen, on the other hand, were crumbling to the beautiful bowling of the Afghan Bowlers. Altogether, Srilankan team get bowled out for a mere 158 runs, letting Afghanistan win by 91 runs. It is really saddening to see a team like Srilanka facing difficulty in the international arena who had some of the greats like Sanath Jayasuriya, Muthiah Muralitharan, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumara Sangakkara play for them.

But, none the less the team effort of Afghanistan is something that every other nation should appreciate and learn from them that to win a game of Cricket team effort is quite important. One thing is clear, the Afghanistan Cricket team are coming up strongly in the international Arena and it is quite evident that they will be a strong team in the coming years.
