The sixth match of the Asia Cup was between Bangladesh and Pakistan. After winning the toss, the Bangladesh Team Captain decided to bat first. Bangladesh had 2 changes in their side for this game.
Shakib Al Hassan had fractured his fingers because of which it was a forced change to bring in Mominul Haque for this game. Soumya Sarkar and Rubel Hossain are the other team members who were back to the playing eleven of Bangladesh Team. On the other hand, Pakistan had one change in their team. Mohammad Amir was replaced with Junaid Khan for this game.
In the first half of the innings, all were not good for Bangladesh. They lost three quick wickets within a span of 5 overs with the team score lingering at 12 runs with the loss of 3 wickets. It was time for Mohammad Mithun and Mushfiqur Rahim to stitch a partnership and save the Bangladesh team from getting bowled out for a lower total. the stand of 144 run partnership between the two batsmen was one of the highest partnership in the Asia Cup tournament. After this partnership was broken, it was difficult for the Bangladesh team to keep their wickets intact. They kept losing their wickets at regular intervals and were able to score 239 runs off their 50 overs quota. Beautiful deliveries from Mustafizur Rahman made sure Babar Azam and Sarfraz Ahmed are back to the pavilion in quick succession. Shoaib got out when the team score was just 86 runs. Pakistan team had to score still another 153 runs to qualify to the finals to play against team India. But the Pakistan team were losing wickets at regular sessions. Imam Ul Haq was the only man standing on the other side fighting the battle all alone by his own against the Bangladesh Team. Ultimately, Pakistan in their quota of 50 overs could score only 202 runs with a loss of 9 wickets. Pick of the bowler for the Bangladesh Team was none other than Mustafizur Rahman, who picked up the most important wickets in the entire game.
Well, all this lead to one thing. Bangladesh team got qualified and is supposed to play against the Indian Team in the Asia Cup 2018 Final. Bangladesh team will be happy with their performance till now and will for sure know that their task is not yet finished as they need to defeat the formidable Indian side in the Asia Cup 2018 Finals to win the tournament.
